Embora a nossa área de residência pertença ao Hospital
Garcia de Orta, a nossa opção para o parto não passa por este hospital. Nada
contra, já ouvi muitos relatos favoráveis em relação à maternidade do HGO.
No entanto, a nossa obstetra pertence ao Hospital Beatriz
Ângelo, em Loures e é lá que pretendemos que o Afonso venha ao mundo.
Para quem não sabe, não somos obrigadas a recorrer ao
hospital a que pertencemos, e podemos escolher o que quisermos na altura do
parto.
Assim sendo, a nossa escolha está feita (sabendo que ficamos
com o HGO para segunda opção, que isto nuca se sabe!).
Fomos, portanto, visitar a maternidade do HBA e aconselho
todas as futuras mamãs a fazer o mesmo com os seus hospitais.
Por um lado, ficamos a conhecer os espaços e os percursos
que iremos realizar, o que eu acredito que contribua para diminuir alguma
ansiedade no momento – ao menos sabemos para onde temos que ir!
Por outro, ficamos a saber exatamente o que pedem para a
mala de maternidade neste hospital, porque as listas variam muito!
E por fim, eu achei muito tranquilizador poder conhecer uma sala
de bloco de partos, que claro, é algo totalmente novo para mim! Fiquei muito
bem impressionada e confiante de que nada me faltará naquele momento! O que
convenhamos, é um descanso!
Mamãs, visitaram o hospital antes? Porque sim, porque não?
Although
our home area belongs to Hospital Garcia de Orta, our option for childbirth
doesn’t go through this hospital. Nothing against it, I've heard many favorable
reports about child delivering in this hospital.
However,
our obstetrician belongs to Hospital Beatriz Angelo, in Loures, and that's
where we want Afonso to come into the world.
For those
unaware, in Portugal, you aren’t forced to have your baby in the hospital to
which we belong, on the contrary, you can choose where you want to deliver.
Therefore,
our choice is made (knowing that we have HGO as a second option, because you
never know!).
We visited,
therefore, the maternity ward of HBA and I advise all future moms to do the
same with their hospitals.
On the one
hand, we get to know the spaces and the routes that we will take what I believe
will help to reduce any anxiety at the moment - at least we know where we have
to go!
On the
other, we learn exactly what that specific hospital requires you to bring in
the maternity bag, because the lists vary widely!
Finally, I
found it very soothing to see a delivery room, which of course, is something
totally new to me! I was very impressed and confident that I shan’t be in need
of anything! What I admit, is comforting!
